October 8 – If God Be For Us
People who trust God will enjoy his protection, and they will have a testimony of goodness to share among others. One psalmist recounted his experience with God and stated,
“If it had not been the Lord who was on our side,” Let Israel now say—“If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, when men rose up against us, then they would have swallowed us alive, when their wrath was kindled against us” (Psalm 124:1-4).
Lesson:
God reigns in the affairs of his children, and he will defend their interests at all cost! The Creator will command his angels to protect his children; he will rescue them from evil, and he will guide their footsteps from slipping. Therefore, anyone who desires to live a victorious life on earth must be a true child of God and reserve his or her trust in him.
Prayer:
Dear God, I desire your divine protection and provisions. Therefore, I ask that you please make me your true child. Let my relationship with you be consistent and help me to reserve my confidence in you throughout the days of my life. For in the name of Jesus Christ, I make my request. Amen.
