October 7 – Be Watchful To Reject False Doctrines

action

Apostle Paul encouraged Thessalonians to hold firm to their traditional Christian beliefs that heaven required. Paul said,

“Therefore, brethren, stand fast and hold the traditions which you were taught, whether by word or our epistle” (2 Thessalonians. 2:15).

Lesson:

The beauty of Christianity is to stand firm in faith that is rooted in the holy scripture. Christians are to be careful not to entertain false teachings – which lack bases in the scriptures. No matter how interesting a teaching may sound, no one should entertain it – unless it can be validated with the scriptures. Also, children of God must also be careful not to mistake every rhetorical rendition as the true word of God.

Prayer:

Dear God, please keep my feet from falling but help me to hold firm to teachings that have validation in the bible. Do not let me become complacent with your word but help me to abide by your instructions so that I can prosper. Give me the gift of discernment of spirit so that I can hold firm to the truth always. For in the name of Jesus Christ I make my requests. Amen.
