Jews at Corinth chased Paul out of their synagogue for preaching the gospel. However the preacher refused to accept defeat, but he persisted in his gospel evangelization in the hostile environment until one synagogue elder converted to Christianity. The scripture reported,
“…And he departed from there and entered the house of a certain man named Justus, one who worshiped God, whose house was next door to the synagogue. Then Crispus, the ruler of the synagogue, believed on the Lord with all his household. And many of the Corinthians, hearing, believed and were baptized” (Acts 18:7-8).
Lesson:
Children of God must not give up in their gospel evangelization efforts – under whatever condition! Christ has commissioned all Christians to ceaselessly preach the gospel in spite of oppositions, persecutions, and rejections that may come their way. Believers should learn from Apostle Paul who persistently preached the gospel in a hostile environment (Acts 18:7-8). Jesus Christ will utilize our messages to save lost souls and thereby populate his kingdom. Every soul that is won for Christ is an addition to the kingdom of God, and subtraction from the kingdom of darkness. (Meanwhile, the heavenly Father will bless people that peach gospel and influence others to receive the salvation of his Son Jesus Christ).
Prayer:
Dear God, please give me the confidence to preach the gospel at all times. Help me to be firm and determined to preach your good news under whatever condition. Anoint me and make me a useful instrument to harvesting plentiful souls into your kingdom. For in the name of Jesus Christ I make my requests. Amen.
