Musical instruments are useful for praising God, and we should use them to his satisfaction. A psalmist challenged people to explore praising the Creator with the use of creative art. He said,
“Praise the Lord! Praise God in His sanctuary; Praise Him in His mighty firmament! Praise Him for His mighty acts; Praise Him according to His excellent greatness! Praise Him with the sound of the trumpet; Praise Him with the lute and harp! Praise Him with the timbrel and dance; Praise Him with stringed instruments and flutes! Praise Him with loud cymbals; Praise Him with clashing cymbals! Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord!” (Psalm 150:1-6).
Lesson:
God does not eat physical food, but he eats praises! He takes pleasure in the worship activities that his children offer him. However, he honors quality praise and worships more than anything else. Jehovah also appreciates worship activities that are presented with creative arts. It is therefore important that everyone be thoughtful of the manner of praise and worship that he (or she) offers to God. Our deep and genuine praises will lead to blessings. If we remain appreciative, the heavenly Father will respond with multiple blessings, so that we can have more reasons to praise his name.
Prayer:
Dear God, please teach me how to praise you genuinely. In fact, I will start to praise you from this moment! I will praise you for all your benefits in my life: You have brought me from the miry clay and set my feet upon the rock. You have given me new songs, and have decorated my life with multiple blessings. I will loudly shout the praise of your name; I will praise you from coast to coast, and I will testify to your goodness always. Please help me to remain grateful to you for all your kindness, and let me ever be a beacon of praise to your name. For in the name of Jesus Christ I make my requests. Amen.
