Does God Exist: Yes or No?

The question whether God exists or not is often asked, and it deserves to be analytically answered for the sake of clarity and affirmation.
Does God exist? Yes he does, and here are the justifications for the answer:
Both nature and the scriptures affirm the existence of God.
The scripture plainly describes people who deny God’s existence as fools; it further warns the skeptics to repent or else risk the judgement of condemnation that will follow after.

Does God Exist?

The scripture stated,

The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, and have done abominable iniquity; there is none who does good. God looks down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there are any who understand, who seek God. Every one of them has turned aside; they have together become corrupt; there is none who does good, No, not one” (Psalm 53:1-3).

The affirmative condemnation for denial of God’s existence is stated: “But because of your stubbornness and your unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of God’s wrath, when his righteous judgment will be revealed. God “will repay each person according to what they have done.” (Romans 2:5-6 NIV).

question

Nature Prove The Existence of God

Does God Exist? Yes, he is real and his existence is undeniable. Even though we cannot see him physically, but we can see his works around us.

God’s fingerprint is all over places – Everyone without exception can see and feel his presence everywhere!

  • If there is no God, who could have done so many beautiful things that we see and enjoy today?
  • If there is no God, who could have kept the climate in its unique status – Both weather and seasons maintain their schedule in amazing chronological fashion?
  • If there is no God, who could have made human beings with such perfect design that we see today?

Humans can eat, excrete, walk, sleep, and wake up.

In fact, the genius creativity of God about humans is so real that we can even walk and run, and be able to release exhaust through our nostrils (a design similar to any locomotive engine).

Truly God is real and alive. His supremacy will last eternally!

God’s Ingenuity for Creation

Does God Exist? Yes! Whoever says there is no God is nothing but a fool!

The critics common arguments that all things existed by nature is absurd.

The truth remains that God created the nature itself! Nature did not produce human being, God did.

natureGod Created the Nature

A person who denies the existence of God should question him or herself on the following:

  • Who could have formed the sky in such a perfect shape and colors?
  • Who could have made trees to mostly grow green leaves that are restful and suitable to behold?
  • Who could have made sunrise and sunset that never miss their schedules?
  • Who could have made climate and weather to repeat their yearly routine schedules without failing?

The question whether God does exists or not should not be difficult for anyone to answer.

No need for a rocket science to understand that something significant (powerful and miraculous) lies behind our created universe.

Such significant force can only come from someone who is higher in power.

No one other than God can qualify for such characteristics! He is the unique and specific deity behind the creations!

God Created Man and Woman

nature

Does God exist? God does exist! He made human beings and furnished us perfectly.

Man (and woman) has two ears that line perfectly across his head.

Man has two legs to maintain perfect stability; He has two eyes that are complemented with eye-lashes to ward off insects and flies.

Man has a mouth to eat food and an anus to excrete his digested foods.

Heaven Represents God’s Perfection

The beauty of this world is nothing to compare with the beauty of heaven that God is preparing for his saints.

All we have seen here on earth are nothing to compare with his heavenly creativity.

The Creator has reserved heaven for his excellence. It will remain a place where he showcase the perfection of his beauty.

Something remarkable about the news of heaven consisting of God’s perfect works is that we humans will also have our chance to have a glimpse of it.

In fact, beyond brief exhilaration, believers will call heaven their permanent home! That is, people who have confessed the existence of God will enjoy him to the fullness in heaven.

However, something very important about this to note is that not all people will qualify for heaven.

Only a few individuals who have confessed Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior will qualify to eternally enjoy God’s creative works in heaven.

It is therefore expedient that people align their faith with Jesus Christ by confessing him as their Lord and Savior to qualify for heaven. Jesus Christ is the Son of God and he is the only one that offers direct pathway to heaven.

“Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6).

Prayer To Key Into The Existence Of God

prayer

Does God Exist? Yes!

Dear God, I understand that it takes foolishness to argue that you do not exist.

I know you are in existence and I know that you are real more than anything else!

I thank you for the beautiful earth that you have created.

I understand that you have more beautiful works at display in heaven, and I want to witness them also.

Besides, I want to make heaven my permanent home once my earthly race is over.

Therefore, I ask that you please count me worthy to enter heaven on the last day.

I know that faith in Jesus Christ is the means of entering heaven, and I must confess him as my personal Savior to qualify. Therefore, I confess my faith in him today.

I confess that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and I accept him as my personal Lord and Savior.

Henceforth, I am a child of God who is qualified to inherit the gift of eternal life in heaven!

Glory to God in the highest. Amen!

Uphold Righteousness and Be filled With God’s Reward

King Hezekiah upheld the scepter of righteousness in the land of Judah, and God prospered him.

The scripture reported Hezekiah’s courageous decisions that turned out to become his achievements.

It is reported,

“Now when all this was finished, all Israel who were present went out to the cities of Judah and broke the sacred pillars in pieces, cut down the wooden images, and threw down the high places and the altars—from all Judah, Benjamin, Ephraim, and Manasseh—until they had utterly destroyed them all. Then all the children of Israel returned to their own cities, every man to his possession” (2 Chronicles 31:1).

King Hezekiah lived a victorious life and he was honored till the sunset of his life. His end was reported, “… So Hezekiah rested with his fathers, and they buried him in the upper tombs of the sons of David; and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem honored him at his death. Then Manasseh his son reigned in his place” (2 Chronicles 32:33).

Lesson on Righteousness Upholding

God’s rewards of goodness are bound to manifest  in believers’ lives. Sweet and befitting testimonies will pursue people who are determined to walk in God’s ways, just like they happened in the life of King Hezekiah in the Bible.

The king excelled his predecessors because he feared God, and all things worked out well for him. He began his life story by enforcing God’s laws in his land.

Unlike his predecessors, Hezekiah ensured that idol shrines were destroyed in the land of Judah (2 Chronicles 31:1).

As a gesture for his steadfastness, God blessed Hezekiah with wisdom and strength. The king was brave to frustrate a powerful invading King Sennacherib of Assyria.assassination-attempt-268910_640

King Hezekiah devised engineering scheme to frustrate his enemies by terminating water courses that could have sustained them; meanwhile, he secretly rerouted the water courses through underground tunnels.

In addition, King Hezekiah was also able to supervise an invention of a storage system that stored temple articles.

The king ensured that God’s priests and their families were well cared for.

However, the greatest achievement of King Hezekiah is yet to be mentioned: He was humble enough to put Satan to shame when the enemy was determined to waste his life through pride.

God helped King Hezekiah to finish his earthly race well. He died at a very old age to receive an expensive royal honor in Jerusalem. God will reward us!

Prayer on Upholding of Righteousness for God’s Reward

Beware Of Pride Of Personal Achievement

Paul used his personal experience to analyze how Satan can manipulate anyone into pride through personal achievement.

The enemy can trick someone to mistake God’s grace and blessing as mere fruits of human labor (which is a practice detested by God). Paul used his life as an example and said,

“…And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure. Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me.

And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me” (2 Corinthians 12:7-9).

Lesson on Pride of achievement

God created humanity to depend on him. He wants us to look up to him for every help that assassination-attempt-268910_640we need.

Even when we have adequate provisions, God still wants us to gratify whatever we have towards him.

The Creator simply does not want us to be self-sufficient. He is our sufficiency.

Meanwhile, human flesh tends to do the opposite of God’s expectations.

Flesh wants self-gratifications, which makes us prone to Satan’s temptations.

Meanwhile, since we Christians have the Spirit of God in us, we can mortify the desires of the flesh.

We can yield ourselves to the leadership of the Holy Spirit, which will make us satisfy God.

Hence, every child of God should be sensitive not to entertain human gratification that can cause us to sin against God.

(This fact does not negate the fact that we can be thankful of our achievement and have sense of accomplishment in it).

Prayer Against Pride of achievement

prayer-1143598__180Dear God, please give me the grace to see you in all things that happen in my life.

Let me glorify you in my achievements. Enable me with the courage to honor you with everything I have.

For in the name of Jesus Christ I make my requests. Amen.

Christians Are Charged to Preach Gospel

God requires Christians to preach gospel of Jesus Christ without hesitation.

We must inform people about Jesus’ gift of salvation, and punishment that will come on people who refuse to believe Him.

The scripture stated, “Blow the trumpet in Zion; sound the alarm on my holy hill. Let all who live in the land tremble, for the day of the Lord is coming. It is close at hand”— (Joel 2:1 NIV)

Lesson for Christians to Preach Gospel

preachThis present world will remain a temporal home for all people.

Everyone will migrate from here to a permanent destination. binoculars-1464304-1279x933

However, not all people will end at the same place.

Some people will end up in heaven while others will end up in hell.

People who would be qualified for heaven are those who have believed in Jesus Christ and accepted Him as their Lord and Savior.

Unbelievers will end up in hell fire where there shall be everlasting torment (Matthew 25:41).

Hence, anyone who is yet to establish a good relationship with Jesus Christ should not hesitate  before it is too late.

gospel

Since the danger of hell is imminent on the unbelievers, Christians are mandated to go out of their way to share their faith with unbelievers so that they can have chance to gain salvation.

It written,

preach gospelI charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: Preach the word!

Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.

But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry (2 Timothy 4:1-5 NIV).

Prayer for God’s grace to Preach the Gospel

gospelDear God, please let your fire of evangelism burn in me to preach gospel.

Empower me to ceaselessly proclaim your gospel so that unbelievers can come to the knowledge of your Son Jesus Christ. As I preach, let people respond.

Christianity and Temptation are Inseparable but Victory Sure

Christianity is a religion that gives hope and salvation, but also attracts some tough circumstances and temptations – which will eventually result to positive benefits.

Paul shared his personal experience of Christianity and said, “… Are they Hebrews? So am I. Are they Israelites? So am I. Are they the seed of Abraham? So am I.

Are they ministers of Christ?—I speak as a fool—I am more: in labors more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequently, in deaths often. From the Jews five times I received forty stripes minus one.

Three times I was beaten with rods; once I was stoned; three times I was shipwrecked; a night and a day I have been in the deep; in journeys often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils of my own countrymen, in perils of the Gentiles, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren; in weariness and toil, in sleeplessness often, in hunger and thirst, in fasting often, in cold and nakedness” (2 Corinthians 11:22-27).

Lesson on Christianity and Temptation

Children of God may face trials and persecutions for their faith, but God will help them overcome all.

Christ promised victory for his saints and said,

binoculars-1464304-1279x933“These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world” (John 16:33).

Christ’s affirmative statement of victory should be resounding in every Christian’s mind.

Trials, temptations, and persecutions would remain temporal in our lives. No matter how tough a situation may appear, we will still overcome!

Meanwhile, Satan will try whatever he can in an attempt to break our confidence.

His efforts may include an attack on our testimonies; he may instigate people to abuse us, and he may aim at hurting us emotionally.

rick-24127_640Meanwhile, our steadfastness in Jesus Christ is very important.

Jehovah will not allow our tears to go unaccounted for.

He will reward our endurance, and he will decorate our lives with honor. Steadfast Christians will receive God’s good rewards from this earth to heaven.

praying-25596_640Prayer on Christianity and Temptation

Dear God, please give me your strength to remain a steadfast Christian.

Enable me to keep irresistible faith in time of trial, temptation, and persecution. Strengthen my mind not to fall into Satan’s temptations.

Empower me through your Holy Spirit to live an acceptable life before you always, so that I can receive your benefits in this world and in heaven also.

God Frowns at Sin and Embraces Holiness

The term “Daughters of Zion” was used on many occasions to refer to the beauty and pride of Israel; however, in some instances, God down tune importance of “Daughters of Zion” into a piece of entity worthy of severe punishment due to Israelites’ sins.

One of the instances is highlighted, “Moreover the Lord says: “Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, And walk with outstretched necks And wanton eyes, Walking and mincing as they go, Making a jingling with their feet, Therefore the Lord will strike with a scab The crown of the head of the daughters of Zion, And the Lord will uncover their secret parts” (Isaiah 3:16-17).

Lesson on God frowns at Sin and embraces Holiness

assassination-attempt-268910_640God will not turn a blind eye on any Christian who goes against His will.

He can not bless anyone who persists in sin! Since he is just and faithful, the Creator cannot exonerate any of his children from sin – unless the fellow repent.

For any Christian to enjoy optimum blessing and protection of God, he (or she) must ensure that he complies with God’s laws.

Holiness is God’s standard, and all his children are required to be holy in order to be in good term with him.

Prayer to frown at Sin and embrace Holiness like God

Repent of Your Sins and Enjoy God’s Blessing

God asked his people – Israelites – to repent from their sin so that they can qualify for his blessings.

God said, “Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; Put away the evil of your doings from before my eyes.

Cease to do evil, Learn to do good; Seek justice, Rebuke the oppressor; Defend the fatherless,

Plead for the widow. “Come now, and let us reason together,” Says the Lord, “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land; But if you refuse and rebel, you shall be devoured by the sword”; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken” (Isaiah 1:16-20).

Lesson on Repentance to Enjoy God’s Blessing

 sorrow-699608_640

God is more interested in seeing his children repent from their sins than to make them suffer terrible punishment of hell fire.

He will forgive our sins if we confess and repent from them.

Meanwhile, the Creator would be left with no other option than to exert his tough judgment if we refuse to repent from our unrighteousness.

Therefore, no Christian should take God for granted and indulge in sin.

We must operate in openness before God so that he can continue to take pleasure over our lives.

Christians Are Spiritual People And Must Be Watchful

We Christians are not ordinary people, but we are spiritual people with special grace to do remarkable things – and we must be watchful of enemy’ plots to slide us!
The scripture proclaimed,  “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh.
For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ” (2 Corinthians 10:3-5).

No matter what challenge may come our way, we are going to overcome. Since the Holy Spirit of God resides in us, we have the strength and dynamism of overcoming devil at all time.

jesusWhile we remain watchful through prayers, we must understand that we are strong through Jesus Christ our Lord.

The name of Jesus Christ is sufficient for us to live overcomers’ lives. When we mention the name of Jesus Christ, battle of any kind – whether physical or spiritual will fizzle out; demons will bow, and victory will be won.

In fact, followers of Jesus Christ will walk tall and raise their heads.

They will sing songs of victory from this earth to heaven. Hallelujah!

Love, Serve and Fear God With Humility

King Uzziah succeeded many wayward kings that disobeyed God, the kings failed to fear God, but he still managed to make serving God a topmost priority.

He ruled the land of Judah with the fear of God, and was successful.

Since he was so faithful, God blessed him with power and fame; he was very much successful than many kings in his territory. However, the king became obsessed with power and stumbled. The scripture reported,

“When he (Uzziah) was strong his heart was lifted up, to his destruction, for he transgressed against the Lord his God by entering the temple of the Lord to burn incense on the altar of incense” (2 Chronicles 26:16).

Uzziah ignored all warnings, but he pursued a forbidden task and God was upset with him.

It is reported,

“Then Uzziah became furious; and he had a censer in his hand to burn incense. And while he was angry with the priests, leprosy broke out on his forehead, before the priests in the house of the Lord, beside the incense altar.

And Azariah the chief priest and all the priests looked at him, and there, on his forehead, he was leprous; so they thrust him out of that place. Indeed he also hurried to get out, because the Lord had struck him. King Uzziah was a leper until the day of his death. He dwelt in an isolated house, because he was a leper; for he was cut off from the house of the Lord. Then Jotham his son was over the king’s house, judging the people of the land” (2 Chronicles 26:19-21).

Lesson on the Fear and love of God

cross-1177327_640Nothing can be more important than having a serving heart.

No matter what we have become, we must not forget our little beginning. While we were still sinners, Christ loved and died for us. He found us in sin, cleaned us, and saved us.

God is our all-in-all, and we must not disobey him.

The Creator will continue to shower his blessings on us if we remain loyal to him.

However, if we children of God refuse to repent and turn a new leaf after correction, God will not withhold his correcting rod from us.

Warning Against False Teachings: Be Careful!

Paul warned Christians at Corinth to be careful of teachings that lack basis in the scripture.
Paul explained, “But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
For if he who comes preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or if you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted—you may well put up with it!” (2 Corinthians 11:3-4).

Lesson on Warning Against False Teachings

persecutionEvery child of God must be careful not to be deceived with false teachings.

We are all required to evaluate any teaching that we receive against the scripture.

A sermon, teaching, prophecy, or vision that can not be justified with the Bible must not be entertained, no matter how beautiful it may sound.

Any religion activity that fail to point our attentions to God must be considered inappropriate, and it should be rejected outrightly.

Meanwhile, it is the responsibility of every Christian to seek the true word of God.

Significant efforts must be taken to know the truth, since the Creator will not exonerate anyone for being naïve and ignorant. We must seek the truth, learn the truth, and apply God’s truth to our lives.

All truth about God that we must learn and apply are already available in the Bible.

Prayer Against False Teachings

hands-1201826_640Dear God, please enable me with the grace to live in the truth of your words always.

Do not let me get carried away with teachings that lack Bible justifications.

Give me the wisdom to differentiate between deceptive teachings and the true gospel.

Jesus Silenced the Enemies: Be Watchful and Sensitive

The Pharisees and Sadducee surrounded Jesus Christ like bees seeking for every opportunity to bite their host.
The religion enemies set traps and tested Jesus on many grounds with the hope that he might stumble in his speech, so that they can arrest and kill Him.
Meanwhile, Jesus was sensitive to recognize the presence of his enemies, and He put them in the right place! When the Pharisees asked a tricky question about resurrection, Jesus referred them to a scripture that everyone in the society respected – and the foes became silent (Luke 20:27-39).
However, Jesus warned his disciples to be watchful of hypocrites who would be envious of their success and seek their downfall. Jesus said,

“Beware of the scribes, who desire to go around in long robes, love greetings in the marketplaces, the best seats in the synagogues, and the best places at feasts, who devour widows’ houses, and for a pretense make long prayers.

These will receive greater condemnation” (Luke 20:46-47 NKJV).

Lesson About Christian Watchfulness

binoculars-1464304-1279x933We Christians are God’s children, and we are lights that are surrounded by people who celebrate the works of darkness; therefore we must be careful!

Our works and godly lifestyles often irritate worldly people, and they would tend to react to whatever we do.

We should be sensitive not to allow evildoers to drag us into their evil practices.

We should not seek world acceptance and sin against God. We Christians must maintain our godly standards and remain heavenly bound.

God will definitely empower us to overcome our adversaries, and he will reward us for every job well done.

Prayer About Christian Watchfulness

weaponDear God, please help me to be wise and be sensitive, so that I will not become a victim of wicked people. Help me to abstain from people who may influence me to sin against you.

Empower me to remain steadfast in faith, and let me keep my godly testimony unto the end so that I can be blessed immensely in heaven.

JESUS CHRIST, THE MOST HIGH PRIEST

Priest role was crucial to God and his people during Old Testament time. The priest offers animal sacrifices to atone for the sin of their people. A person who has committed a sin must provide an animal that the priest would offer on his behalf. No sin was forgiven in the Old Testament without a priest offering a sacrifice to God.

Besides the routine sacrifices of priests, God also designated a special person with the title of “Most High Priest” to yearly offer a sacrifice to plead for the collective sins of his people. The Most High Priest has an obligation to rightly perform his task otherwise, God would reject it, and the priest may die for his sacrifice error.

The priest’s activity of animal sacrifice (and other sacrifices) have been discontinued during New Testament era; however, the priesthood office remains in existence. Some individuals still operate in priesthood office today. These are people who minister to God’s children through prayers and other related services. The New Testament priests teach the word of God; they pray for people and perform other charitable activities.

Today’s priests are clergies, and they bear different titles based on their church denominations or affiliations. They sometimes answer the title, priest, bishop, reverend, pastor, and others. For example, Catholic clergy answers priest, but Protestant and Pentecostal clergies answer bishop, reverend, and pastor.

Unfamiliar Most High Priest

The priest of Old Testament and New Testament serve God to the best of their abilities, but they are short of perfection! They could mediate between God and people through prayer and sacrifices, but their services have limitations. God overlook human sins as a result of their sacrifices, but he did not destroy the power of sin through their efforts!

Jesus Christ was an unfamiliar priest to people of his time. They did not consider him as a priest, but indeed, he was one! His action proved that he was God’s preordained Most High Priest. The Bible declares,

“… By two unchangeable things [His promise and His oath] in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled [to Him] for refuge would have strong encouragement and indwelling strength to hold tightly to the hope set before us. This hope [this confident assurance] we have as an anchor of the soul [it cannot slip and it cannot break down under whatever pressure bears upon it]—a safe and steadfast hope that enters within the veil [of the heavenly temple, that most Holy Place in which the very presence of God dwells], where Jesus has entered [in advance] as a forerunner for us, having become a High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.” (Hebrews 6:18-20 AMP)

Jesus Christ was a special messenger that did not operate as traditional priests of his time. Instead of slaughtering an animal for sacrifice, he allowed himself to be slaughtered as a sacrifice for human sins.

Click to tweet

Once and for all, Christ sacrificed his life for all human sins! Bible reported how he spiritually outperformed his predecessors as a special priest of God-the Most High Priest. Upon his death on the cross, Christ’s power torn the temple veil into two! Bible reported,

“Now from the sixth hour until the ninth hour there was darkness over all the land. And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” that is, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?”… Then, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split” (Matthew 27:45-51 NKJV).

The Reasons Behind Jesus’ Priesthood Action

Jesus Christ, unlike any other priest, chose not to follow the cycle of offering bulls, lambs, goats, and other animals to sacrifice for human sins. Why? Animal sacrifice provided temporal relief since it only covers a sin, but did not remove it.

Also, animal sacrifice was expensive. A person who sacrificed an animal for his sin may soon find himself in the same sinful situation and be mandated to repeat the same process. In addition, a priest who carried out an animal sacrifice is also human, and may inadequately perform his service and render the whole exercise useless.

Besides, an animal sacrifice was not strong enough to destroy the power of sin. That is, God only pardoned a sin through an animal sacrifice, he did not destroy the power of sin for people.

With the complication process of animal sacrifice and its limitations, Jesus Christ chose to abolish the entire process and sought a permanent solution. Therefore, he offered himself as a sacrificed for human sins to earn them permanent forgiveness and freedom. Bible declares,

The law is only a shadow of the good things that are coming—not the realities themselves. For this reason it can never, by the same sacrifices repeated endlessly year after year, make perfect those who draw near to worship. Otherwise, would they not have stopped being offered? For the worshipers would have been cleansed once for all, and would no longer have felt guilty for their sins. But those sacrifices are an annual reminder of sins. It is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins. Therefore, when Christ came into the world, he said: “Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but a body you prepared for me; with burnt offerings and sin offerings you were not pleased. Then I said, ‘Here I am—it is written about me in the scroll— I have come to do your will, my God.’ ” (Hebrews 10:1-7 NIV).

Why Did Jesus Christ Sacrifice His Life?

Jesus’ decision to replace animal sacrifice with his own life was motivated by some special reasons. Why did Jesus sacrifice his life when other priests have not complained of their rituals?

  • The Old Testament priests did not care beyond ordinary for the people they served. They were comfortable at offering animal sacrifice to provide a temporary solution for people.
  • Jesus Christ cared for other people (the whole world); therefore, he was uncomfortable to provide a temporary solution for people. He sought to provide them a permanent solution.
  • On a normal day, an Old Testament priest would say, “Bring me an animal, and I will sacrifice it for your sin!” Jesus disdained the status quo. His practical action could be translated as if he stated, “Don’t bring me an animal, I will sacrifice my life for your sin!”

Jesus Christ took the matter of sin forgiveness seriously, and he was willing to pay an ultimate price that will earn people permanent forgiveness for their sins.

The sacrifice of Jesus’ life immediately provided five major benefits for people:

  1. Opportunity to permanently receive forgiveness of sin.
  2. Opportunity to repair and restore the broken relationship between God and man (and woman).
  3. Opportunity to have power over sin.
  4. Opportunity to obtain eternal life from God.
  5. Opportunity to obtain earthly victory.

Since the time of Jesus’ death and resurrection,

  1. Humanity has an opportunity to permanently receive forgiveness of their sins.
  2. A human can have a mutual relationship with God.
  3. A human can also receive God’s strength to overcome the temptation of sin.
  4. Anyone who believes Christ can obtain the gift of eternal life.
  5. Anyone who believes Christ can live as an overcomer on earth!

It is important to testify that God crowned Jesus Christ with the highest honor in priesthood office after he sacrificed his life on the cross. God awarded him a title of the Most High Priest!

Perhaps, the best privilege that Christ-the Most High Priest earned for humanity is the fact that his followers will qualify for God’s kingdom! Anyone who believes that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and accept him as his or her personal Lord and Savior will be raptured to heaven on the last day.

Everyone now has an opportunity to qualify for heaven through confession of faith in Jesus Christ. A person who confesses Jesus Christ as his or her personal Lord and Savior will not regret his decision. The person will receive God’s help in this life and also be blessed in heaven!

Make a decision that will forever change your life for good. Confess Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior to secure your place in heaven!

Be blessed!
