Miracles ceased to happen when the early church deviated from their true worship to the living God. Apostle James reproof the church and stated,
“Where do wars and fights come from among you? Do they not come from your desires for pleasure that war in your members? You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures” (James 4:1-3).
Lesson:
Life is meant to be lived by bible principles. For signs and wonders to happen among Christians, they must prioritize holiness services to God. Children of God must serve God with open heart, and yield to the leadership of the Holy Spirit. Also, a Christian who intends to enjoy God’s tremendous blessings must operate with open and honest heart with others. No child of God should be hypocritical; everyone must make sizable efforts to subside the works of the flesh in his or her life.
Prayer:
Dear God, please enable the church to serve you with openness and love. Let brethren operate in love, and let us submit to the leadership of your Holy Spirit. Also, mortify every work of flesh in our lives, so that we can faithfully serve you and be truly committed to one another. For in the name of Jesus Christ I make my requests. Amen.
