God finalized his judgments over Judah and Israel after he had given them enough rope to pull. Despite all warnings, God’s children persistent in sins; therefore, the Creator declared his verdict on them as said,
“‘Repent now everyone of his evil way and his evil doings, and dwell in the land that the Lord has given to you and your fathers forever and ever. Do not go after other gods to serve them and worship them, and do not provoke me to anger with the works of your hands, and I will not harm you.’ Yet you have not listened to me,” says the Lord, “that you might provoke me to anger with the works of your hands to your own hurt. “Therefore thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘Because you have not heard My words, behold, I will send and take all the families of the north,’ says the Lord, ‘and Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will bring them against this land, against its inhabitants, and against these nations all around, and will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, a hissing, and perpetual desolations” (Jeremiah 25:5-9).
Lesson:
God’s mercy has a limit; the Creator has a final line to draw if a sinner refuses to repent. If a sinner persists in sin, he/she would face the ultimate consequence of eternal punishment in hell. Therefore, all people should take God’s warning seriously, and yield to his corrections. All nations and tongues must confess the Lordship of Jesus Christ to inherit eternal life. There would be grace, peace, and prosperity for any person who repents from his/her sins. God will rejoice over anyone who repents and confesses Jesus Christ as his/ her Lord and Savior.
Prayer:
“All to Jesus I surrender; All to Him I freely give; I will ever love and trust Him, In His presence daily live. I surrender all, I surrender all; All to Thee, my blessed Savior, I surrender all.”
Dear Jesus Christ, I give my complete life to you today. I confess you as my personal Lord and Savior. I confess my sins and repent from them. From today, I will serve you with all my strength, and I will follow you unto the end. Please give me the grace to remain consistent with you throughout the days of my life, so that I can inherit eternal life in your presence in heaven. For in your name Jesus Christ I tender my requests. Amen!
