October 13 – Holy Spirit; The Power For Acceptable Service
Children of God must avoid a canal approach to spiritual matters.
“The natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one” (1 Corinthians 2:14-15).
Lesson:
The Holy Spirit cannot operate where carnality reigns. Also, he cannot be effective in the lives of people who have shallow minds. For Holy Spirit to duly carry out his goodly mission in our lives, we must be spiritually sensitive and be willing to diligently serve God. Moreover, no Christian can successfully live a holy life and enjoy God’s benefits without the Holy Spirit. Therefore, it is essential that all Christians pursue Holy Spirit and have him live at the center of our hearts.
Prayer:
God, please make me a spiritual person so that I can effectively serve you. Please silence all works of the flesh in my life so that I can enjoy all your benefits. For in the name of Jesus Christ I make my requests. Amen.
