Children of God must make dedicated efforts to abstain from sexual sin since the practice irritates God. The scripture warned believers to consider it as a serious offense to engage in sexual sin. It is written,
“I wrote to you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people …But now I have written to you not to keep company with anyone named a brother, who is sexually immoral, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner—not even to eat with such a person” (1 Corinthians. 5:9-11).
Lesson:
It is prestigious for a Christian to stand uprightly with God in holiness; it is also shameful for any Christian to engage in sexual sin. God hates sexual immorality, and he does not want his children to engage in it. He will withhold his benefits from people who persist in sin. However, anyone who genuinely repents from sexual sin and turns a new leaf will receive God’s blessing. Therefore, everyone should examine his or her way; make necessary amendments, and walk uprightly with God in holiness.
Prayer:
Dear God, please save me from sexual sins. Create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit within me! I am sorry for all my past sins. I am sorry for every sexual sin that I have committed. Please help me to have a fresh start with you. Let me serve you with the beauty of your holiness, and let me walk uprightly with you at all times. Let your Holy Spirit keep me fit for your second coming. Please write my name in the book of life, and let me qualify to partake in your heavenly banquette. For in the name of Jesus Christ I make my requests. Amen.
