Israelites that survived war-time will also enjoy peace of the Lord. God promised to reinstate his lost children into their heritage – with guaranteed rest and safety. It is written in the scripture,
“At the same time,” says the Lord, “I will be the God of all the families of Israel, and they shall be my people.” Thus says the Lord: “The people who survived the sword Found grace in the wilderness— Israel, when I went to give him rest” The Lord has appeared of old to me, saying: “Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore with loving kindness I have drawn you” (Jeremiah 31:1-3).
Lesson:
God is an everlasting Lord of love and mercy, and he will forever show mercy on his own children. He will not cast off his children forever, but he will show them mercy. Jehovah will restore his children from their pitfalls, and save them in times of crisis. However, the compassionate God still expects his children to exercise repentance; he wants us to have renewed minds and change of attitude prior to our restoration. It is important that a child of God submit to God with a humble heart, and genuinely repents from his/her sins. Any individual who humbly comes before God will be redeemed. It is written “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28).
God will stretch his forgiving arms towards any person or a group of people who are humble enough to repent from their sins. He will erase their sins and reverse his punishments on them. Jehovah will care for repentant sinners, and give them peaceful habitations.
Prayer:
Dear God, I am sorry for all my sins! Today, I repent from all my wrongdoings, and I return to you in good faith. Please wipe off my sins and redeem my soul. Give me a godly heart to carefully obey your instructions and faithfully serve you. From now on, I yield my complete life to you, and I will faithfully serve you for the rest of my life. Please restore the joy of your salvation back to me. Write my name in the book of life, and forever keep me fit to inherit your kingdom. For in the name of Jesus Christ I make my requests. Amen.
