March 7 – Being Prayerful

David refused to rely on man’s help during a crisis but he cried to God for help, and he delivered him. During crisis David said,

“Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me! For my soul trusts in you; And in the shadow of your wings I will make my refuge, until these calamities have passed by. I will cry out to God Most High, To God who performs all things for me. He shall send from heaven and save me; He reproaches the one who would swallow me up. God shall send forth His mercy and His truth” (Psalm 57:1-3).

Lesson:

Prayer is a very important tool that Christians must use every day. We must bless God during prayers, and we must table our requests to him. Meanwhile, during difficulties, we should not cry to God just to express our pains, but we should cry to invite God into our situations. Prayer is basically necessary to invite God to take over our problems and provide us with solutions.

Prayer:

Dear God, please teach me how to pray. Enable me to express my feelings and requests to you over any situation that comes my way. Also, empower me to trust that you will definitely help me once I have prayed to you. Please give me the grace to receive the benefits of prayers, and let it be well with me throughout the days of my life. For in the name of Jesus Christ I make my requests. Amen.
