David explained the benefits that he has received from God since the time he yielded his life to him. The man David said,
“I waited patiently for the Lord; and He inclined to me, and heard my cry. He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, Out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my steps. He has put a new song in my mouth—Praise to our God; many will see it and fear, and will trust in the Lord. Blessed is that man who makes the Lord his trust, and does not respect the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies” (Psalm 40:1-4).
Lesson:
Anyone who commits his life to God will receive his benefits. The fellow will receive God’s help during the time of need and be blessed. However, someone may need to apply some extra efforts to trust God during difficult moments, since unpleasant conditions often come with pressures. Anyone who summons the courage to trust God and get him involved in his or her challenges will soon laugh. God cares for his children, and he will not allow any situation or condition to put them to shame. Jehovah will defend people who trust him, and he will ensure they sing songs of testimony.
Prayer:
Dear God, please teach me how to trust you during difficult moments. Enable me to call on you for help during trials, and give me the grace to appreciate you after I have obtained my breakthrough. Let my mouth be filled with your songs of praise, and let me be happy to testify to your goodness throughout the days of my life. For in the name of Jesus Christ I make my requests. Amen.
