June 21 – Our Guardian

Holy Spirit directed Philip to travel through a desert so that he could meet and preach to a man who was yearning to learn about Jesus Christ. The scripture reported,

“An angel of the Lord spoke to Philip, saying, “Arise and go toward the south along the road which goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.” This is desert. So he arose and went. And behold, a man of Ethiopia, a eunuch of great authority under Candace the queen of the Ethiopians, who had charge of all her treasury, and had come to Jerusalem to worship, was returning. And sitting in his chariot, he was reading Isaiah the prophet. Then the Spirit said to Philip, “Go near and overtake this chariot” (Acts 8:26-29).

Philip obeyed the Holy Spirit and he preached to the traveler; the man gave his life to Jesus Christ and was immediately baptized.

Lesson:

Holy Spirit serves as divine guidance of God to the believers. Whoever allows him to operate in his or her life will not experience failure but have the sound success that will last eternally. The Spirit of God operates in diverse ways, and he can lead any Christian to carry out some unusual tasks. However, the Holy Spirit would only guide a person that pleases God, and he would never contradict bible principles! Moreover, miracles happen when a Christian responds to the leadership of the Holy Spirit: People receive salvation, healing, faith, assurance, and other miracles. Also, God rejoices whenever his children adequately respond to the leadership of his Spirit. Hence, it can be concluded that there is no regret in heeding the instructions and leadership of the Holy Spirit. It is a Win-Win situation for all parties. Devil is the only one who loses in the process!

Prayer:

Dear God, please teach me how to respond to the leadership of the Holy Spirit. Let me be prayerful and sensitive so that I can understand every instruction that the Spirit offers. Make me a sensitive servant that listens to the voice of the Holy Spirit, and make me an obedient servant that yields to his instructions. Let my obedience benefit your kingdom. Let me never regret serving you, but help me to prosper in this life, and in heaven also. For in the name of Jesus Christ I make my requests. Amen.
