May 29 – Do Not Allow Doubt

The blind man whom Jesus healed appreciated his healing and praised Jesus, despite the fact that Pharisees pressured him to do otherwise. When the Pharisees labeled Jesus as a sinner, the man insisted and said,

“Whether He is a sinner or not I do not know. One thing I know: that though I was blind, now I see” (John 9:25). Meanwhile, the Pharisees continued to persuade the man to denounce his healer, “Then they said to him again, “What did He do to you? How did He open your eyes?” He answered them, “I told you already, and you did not listen. Why do you want to hear it again? Do you also want to become His disciples?” Then they reviled him and said, “You are His disciple, but we are Moses’ disciples. We know that God spoke to Moses; as for this fellow, we do not know where He is from” (John 9:26-29).

Lesson:

Everyone should claim his or her God-given miracles by faith. We should not allow doubt and enemies’ skepticism to pressure us to denounce our miracles. The scripture stated, “The just shall live by faith” (Hebrews 10:38). Hence, we must understand that no one can enjoy God’s benefits without exercising faith.

Prayer:

Dear God, I understand that faith is an important part of Christianity and no one can really enjoy you without it; therefore, I ask you to please bless me with grace to have faith. Let me apply faith to whatever I do, and let me always be confident to celebrate your benefits in my life. For in the name of Jesus Christ I make my requests. Amen.
