King Solomon built a state-of-the-art temple for God. He used expensive materials for the project. The king also ensured that every important part of the temple was decorated with pure gold. The scripture reported,
“Solomon overlaid the inside of the temple with pure gold. He stretched gold chains across the front of the inner sanctuary, and overlaid it with gold. The whole temple he overlaid with gold, until he had finished all the temple; also he overlaid with gold the entire altar that was by the inner sanctuary” (1 Kings 6:21-22).
Lesson:
God deserves quality gifts from his children. He has always been faithful to his children, and he deserves to be well appreciated. The Creator offers his children constant provisions and protections; the list that anyone should do is to appreciate God with the best materials that he or she has. Meanwhile, nothing should be considered too important to give to God. Any best gift that we can offer God would still be insufficient to satisfy the amount of his goodness over us.
Prayer:
Dear God, please help me to love you more than silver and gold. Enable me to freely give you my best offerings. Let me freely give without grudges. Let me be appreciative enough to offer you tangible offerings that will incur your rare blessings into my life. For in the name of Jesus Christ I make my requests. Amen.
