Jesus Christ authorized his disciples to preach the gospel, and he backed their ministries up with signs and wonders. The scripture reported,
“Then He (Jesus) called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases. He sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick” (Luke 9:1-3).
Jesus Christ is the only being in existence decorated with unquestionable authority to
bind and loose at will in any situation. God has conferred on him all powers that anyone would need to triumph in every situation. The scripture attested about Jesus, “Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:9-11). However, Jesus has chosen not to hoard his rare authority, but he has decided to share it with his followers. Hence, anyone who declares his/her faith in Jesus Christ will exercise the remarkable power of Christ to triumph in every situation of life. Jesus said to his disciples, “Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. “Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.” (Matthew 18:18-19).
Dear Jesus Christ, what a wonderful Son of God, you are, possessing the remarkable and unimaginable power to do and undo at will! I understand your followers share the same power as well; therefore, since I am a Christian – your follower – I declare myself a co-sharer of your power, and I am determined to use it to a full extent! To the glory of God’s name, I will use the authority of Jesus’ name to preach the gospel, and I will use it to perform signs and wonders. I know I am the most fortunate person on earth since I am a follower of Jesus Christ! Yes, I am a champion in the faith of my Lord and my victory shall abide forever! Amen.
