November 28 – Watch Out For Critics Out There!

Daily Bible Life

The Pharisees opposed the ministry of Jesus Christ and wanted him to fail. The enemies camouflage under the banner of their Jewish religion to criticize the Son of God. They followed Jesus everywhere to question his authority and find fault in his works. However, Jesus chose not to satisfy the will of the enemies. He refused to allow them to distract him from doing his Father’s business. Christ remained focused on proclaiming the kingdom of God and helping people who are in need. The scripture reported some activities of the Pharisees, “Now it happened on the second Sabbath after the first that He (Jesus) went through the grainfields. And His disciples plucked the heads of grain and ate *them,* rubbing *them* in *their* hands. And some of the Pharisees said to them, “Why are you doing what is not lawful to do on the Sabbath?” The scripture also reported, “Now it happened on another Sabbath, also, that He entered the synagogue and taught. And a man was there whose right hand was withered. So the scribes and Pharisees watched Him closely, whether He would heal on the Sabbath, that they might find an accusation against Him” (Luke 6:6-7) (Luke 6:1-2).

Lesson:

Satan and his agents are out there with a mission to distract and derail the believers from their Christian race. The enemies will attempt any tactic and throw any stone to challenge our Christian values. The enemies hope that believers will backslide from faith; we must not allow them. Christians must be sensitive and be prayerful to remain steadfast in faith unto the end. Believers must focus on the mission to faithfully serve God and fulfill our mandate to propagate the gospel of Jesus Christ. Christians must pray for the empowerment of the Holy Spirit to successfully run our Christian race.

Christians must heed the Bible’s warning which states that Satan is an enemy of righteousness who has an intention to steal the believers’ confidence; cause them to lose their salvation, and send them to hellfire. The Bible warned, “The thief does not come to steal alone, but to steal, to kill and to destroy” (John 10:10).

Prayer:

Dear God, please give me the strength to remain steadfast in faith and faithfully serve you unto the end. Do not let me surrender to the desire of the enemies and backslide from faith. Don’t let me yield to Satan’s temptations and fall from faith! Let the Holy Spirit empower me to be committed and faithfully serve you unto the end so that I can be rewarded in your heavenly kingdom. For in the name of Jesus Christ I make my requests. Amen.
