April 15 – Stay Away From Sin; Let God Stay With You

Daily Bible Life

Sin caused a rift between God and the Israelites, which caused the Creator to turn His back against his own children. The separation created a vacuum that granted Satan an opportunity to attack the rebel nation. The enemy instigated the neighboring countries to attack Israel since they had lost God’s protection. However, God promised to forgive His children and punish those who attack them. God said to Ezekiel, “Son of man, because Tyrthe has said against Jerusalem, ‘Aha! She is broken who was the gateway of the peoples; now she is turned over to me; I shall be filled; she is laid waste.’ “Therefore thus says the Lord God: ‘Behold, I am against you, O Tire, and will cause many nations to come up against you, as the sea causes its waves to come up” (Ezekiel 26:2-3).

Lesson:

Humans should learn not to meddle with God’s business. A person who engages in God’s business without proper invitation may regret his (or her action). His action can provoke God if care is not taken. For example, a person who attacks the servant of God may have every reason to justify his action, but he may still end up sinning against God. Servants of God are primarily answerable to God. We are not allowed to lift a finger against them for any reason unless God told us to do so.
Some servants of God may have committed gross errors, which obviously violates bible standards. Such mistakes can provoke anyone, but a good Christian will take caution not to be hasty in judgment or take undue action. Believers must be cautious in dealing with issues that are delicate and can incur God’s wrath. Instead of playing the devil’s advocate and mismanage your virtues, it is preferable to mind your business. As Christians, we should devote our religious efforts to gospel evangelization. We should focus more on propagating the gospel to populate God’s kingdom. Every Christian should gauge his/her lifestyles to meet God’s standard of holiness. The bible states; *“Therefore, laying aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking, as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby” (1 Peter 2:1-2).

Lesson:

Dear God, please help me to mind my business and be careful of how I deal with other people. Please do not let me engage in any activity that would provoke you into judgment! Help me to mind my business and be committed only to activities that will provoke your blessing. Please help me to practice a godly lifestyle, so that I can partake in your everlasting rewards of peace and prosperity in heaven. For in the name of Jesus Christ, I have prayed.
