March 10 – Stay Away From A Sexual Sin To Prosper!
Children of God must not engage in an ungodly sexual activity. Apostle Paul encouraged the Christians at Corinth to live in purity. He asked them to abstain from any activity that could trap them into engaging in sexual sin. Paul encouraged the unmarried adults to seriously consider getting married, rather than indulging in any (sexual) activity that could cause them to sin against God.
Paul admonished the Christian adults at Corinth (as the same instruction applies to every other Christian) to avoid a sexual sin by getting married. The man of God challenged any adult who has chosen to remain single to also maintain a principle of steering clear of sexual activities.
Paul addressed the Christians at Corinth (and every other Christian), “I suppose therefore that this is good because of the present distress—that it is good for a man to remain as he is: Are you bound to a wife? Do not seek to be loosed. Are you loosed from a wife? Do not seek a wife. But even if you do marry, you have not sinned; and if a virgin marries, she has not sinned…” (1 Corinthians 7:26-28).
God hates sexual immorality. He frowns at the practice. The Creator requires all his children to measure up to his established standard of holiness. Everyone must understand that any sexual activity that is outside of legal marriage is considered as a sin against God.
A person who engages in sexual activity with someone that is not his or her legal spouse is committing a sin of fornication and adultery. Sexual sin is not only considered as a sin against God, it is also considered as a sin against the human body. Why? The human body is the temple of the Holy Spirit!
It is important to emphasize that God only recognizes any legal marriage as an institution between a man and a woman. Any other sexual union outside the Bible standard definition of marriage is a sin against God.
Every sin incurs God’s wrath; however, a sexual sin carries a heavier weight in the presence of God.
Anyone who corrupts his or her body with a sexual sin should not expect God to remain in a good term with him or her. You cannot keep an unholy relationship (with a sexual sin) and still expects God to honor his relationship with you at the same time!
A fornicator and an adulterer will lose some tangible benefits from God. The sinner also risks losing his or her soul to Satan in hellfire.
To avoid sexual sin, the Bible encouraged people who have reached the marriageable age to get married. People who have not reached the stage of marriage must stay away from all sexual activities.
God will bless anyone who abstains from sexual sins. The person’s reward of holiness will be visible in this life, and more importantly, it will be substantially visible in heaven.
Dear God, please give me the strength to resist the temptation of sexual sin. Help me not to engage in any activity that can lead to a sin of fornication and/or adultery. Please empower me to live up to the standard of your holiness stipulated in the Bible so that I can prosper!
Please God, enable me with the strength to be disciplined and not to participate in any activity that can corrupt my soul. Please save me from bad influences and help me to keep my body pure before you at all times! Help me to faithfully serve you unto the end so that I can receive an everlasting joy in heaven. For in the name of Jesus Christ I make my requests. Amen.
