June 16 – Spirit-Filled Christians Are Untouchable!

Daily Bible Life

The Pharisees questioned Jesus Christ with an intention to make him utter a statement that would give them an opportunity to apprehend him. However, Christ proved them wrong as he outsmarted them with his response. Once the enemies realized they couldn’t prevail, they decided to be quiet. Meanwhile, the Pharisees who couldn’t scheme Jesus were older, also, religion scholars. Christ had never been to a school yet he was to prevail over his opponents. The secret of his success was the Holy Spirit!

The Bible reported, “Now when He (Jesus Christ) Came into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people confronted Him as He was teaching, and said, “By what authority are You doing these things? And who gave you this authority?” But Jesus answered and said to them, “I also will ask you one thing, which if you tell Me, I likewise will tell you by what authority I do these things: The baptism of John—where was it from? From heaven or from men?” And they reasoned among themselves, saying, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ He will say to us, ‘Why then did you not believe him?’ But if we say, ‘From men,’ we fear the multitude, for all count John as a prophet.” So they answered Jesus and said, “We do not know.” And He said to them, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things” (Matthew 21:23-26).

Lesson:

The Holy Spirit empowers Christians to live triumphantly on earth. A person who allows the Spirit of God to rule him will prevail over any trials and temptations they might be faced with. The Holy Spirit will enhance the person’s strength and knowledge to properly handle a difficult situation to glorify God. However, for the invincible Spirit of God to completely take charge in a person’s life, he/she must have had his heart properly set on God. Most importantly, the person must have accepted Jesus Christ as the Lord of his life! That is, he must have declared Jesus as the Son of God and accepted him as his Savior. Once these conditions are satisfied, the Divine Spirit of God will take charge to rule the person and make him live a life free of troubles.

Prayer:

Dear God, please let your Holy Spirit rule me so that I can prevail in all situations. Let your Holy Spirit empower me to live victoriously on earth. Let Him give me the wisdom and strength to prevail over trials and temptations. Let your Spirit subdue every situation for me so that I can live peacefully and happily to glorify your Holy Name. For in the name of Jesus Christ, I make my requests. Amen.
