All children of God must make a dedicated effort to abstain from a sexual sin and serve God in holiness. Sexual sin irritates God; no believer should engage in the practice. Each Christian must understand the seriousness of the consequences of a sexual sin: An immoral person will not be welcomed in the assembly of God’s people in heaven. Even, Apostle Paul asked the Christian community to keep a distance from an immoral person. Paul wrote, “I wrote to you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people …But now I have written to you not to keep company with anyone named a brother, who is sexually immoral, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner—not even to eat with such a person” (1 Corinthians. 5:9-11).
Christians must stand uprightly with God and serve him in the beauty of his holiness. The Creator is holy and he requires his children to be holy also. We must meet this demand to stay in his good book! As far as God is concerned, there is no substitute for holiness. Any believer who engages in a sexual sin ought to be ashamed of himself (or herself). The person must repent. That is, a sexually immoral person must repent and return to the practice of serving God in holiness. Jehovah will forgive and bless a repentant sinner. A person who refuses to repent and repair his/her relationship with God will suffer the consequences of his/her action.
Dear God, please I am sorry for my past immoral activities. Please forgive me! Give me the grace to serve you in holiness so that you can be happy with me. Give me a contrite spirit to meet your holiness standard and serve you well. Let the Holy Spirit empower me to befit for your earthly and heavenly blessings. For in the name of Jesus Christ I make my requests. Amen.
