God promotes the sanctity of marriage and he asked his children to ensure to keep their marriage pure. Spouses must be committed to each other and be trustworthy. The scripture explained this better as it stated, “It is good for a man not to touch a woman. Nevertheless, because of sexual immorality, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband. Let the husband render to his wife the affection due her, and likewise also the wife to her husband” (1 Corinthians 7:1-3).
Lesson:
All believers must abstain from sexual sin. A married couple must abstain from any infidelity for the sake of appeasing God and promoting the unity of their marriage. (That is, a married person must not have any sexual relationship outside his or her legal marriage). Any Christian who commits a sexual sin is sinning against God and also sinning against his or her own body. Sexual sin corrupts the human body which the Bible declares as the temple of the Holy Spirit. Anyone who fails to keep his/her body pure will incur the wrath of God.
All people must understand that the principle of God about marriage institution is solely based on “A relationship between a man and a woman.” God created the institution of marriage in the Garden of Eden (for Adam- a man and Eve- a woman). The Bible stated, “For this reason, a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh” (Ephesians 5:31).
Prayer:
Dear God, I understand that you want me to live a holy life before you. You require that I must keep my marriage pure and be faithful to my spouse. I must do everything necessary to safeguard my marriage for your honor; therefore I ask that you please give me the ability to do so! Help me to be disciplined to keep my body pure before you at all times. Let the Holy Spirit empower me to meet your holiness standard so that I can prosper in all my ways and also remain qualify for your eternal kingdom. For in the name of Jesus Christ I make my requests. Amen.
