May 21 – God Is Not Partial

God

King David reviewed his past and realized that God had made him successful without having any significant background or experience. The king understood that he was not born with a silver spoon; neither did he have any exceptional success trait. Yet, God appointed him for greatness since he risked his life to kill Goliath and defend his country (and also to promote God’s name). The Creator had turned Shepherd David into a king, and he had made him overwhelmingly successful. Meanwhile, David decided to humble himself once he realized that he was “nobody” until God turned him to become “somebody.” The king humbled himself and said,

“O Lord, our Lord, How excellent is your name in all the earth, who have set your glory above the heavens! Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants you have ordained strength, because of your enemies, that you may silence the enemy and the avenger” (Psalm 8:1-2).

Lesson:

God is impartial; he uses and blesses anyone who meets his criteria. He does not prefer the rich to the poor, and he does not sympathize with the poor at the expense of the rich. God will use anyone who makes himself or herself available for him – whether rich or poor. Meanwhile, a person that God uses is fortunate! The fellow will receive overwhelming blessings. A person who becomes God’s instrument for any special mission will have multiple riches and honors to pass down to his or her next generation. (Congratulations to people who have made themselves available for God’s use, since they shall surely be blessed!)

Prayer:

Dear God, please use me! I understand that you will bless me if I make myself available for your use; therefore, I am determined to release myself for your use. Henceforth, I will gladly do whatever you ask me to do, and I will do it effectively. Please showcase your grace and power through my obedience, and let me prosper in my commissions. For in the name of Jesus Christ, I make my requests. Amen.
