February 2 – Jesus Sacrificed His Life For Humanity
The priests of God play important roles in our lives, and they deserve our honor; however, one particular priest deserves special honor than others, and his name is Jesus Christ! Unlike other priests, Christ did not offer animal sacrifice to God, but he sacrificed his own life for the remission of human sins. This indicates that humanity can receive sin cleansing and forgiveness through the blood of Jesus Christ. The scripture stated, “Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need” (Hebrews 4:14-16).
Jesus Christ is a better priest than any priest that ever lived! Other priests sacrificed an animal, but Christ sacrificed his own life for people’s sins. He offered himself as the living sacrifice to appease God and to obtain forgiveness of our sins. Christ also helped us earn the gift of eternal life. In short, Jesus reconciled humanity to God through his death and resurrection. He even went beyond that by taking up the challenge to visit heaven and prepare a place for his believers! That is, whoever confesses Jesus Christ as his/her personal Lord and Savior will not only receive forgiveness of sin, but he/she will also have an opportunity to enter God’s kingdom in the end. Hence, it is advantageous for anyone to become a Christ’ follower since the reward is far-reaching! Whoever confesses Jesus Christ as Lord will receive forgiveness of his/her sins and also qualify for God’s kingdom.
Dear Jesus Christ, what an excellent job you have done for me as the priest of the Most-High God; you sacrificed your life to save my soul from God’s judgment! You are such a remarkable Savior! Please give me grace and ability to appreciate you every day of my life. I know it takes the confession of faith to be saved; therefore, I boldly confess that you (Jesus Christ) are the Son of God; I repent from my sins and I also accept you as my personal Lord and Savior. I promise to serve you every day of my life! Please count me worthy in your kingdom! For I have prayed in your most precious name, Jesus Christ. Amen!
