Some insensitive Christians and the unbelievers make it their point of duty to persecute the gospel ministers. They look for every excuse to criticize them and negatively influence their efforts. Meanwhile, people who persecute God’s servants ought to realize that they are acting against the scripture and offending God in the process. God is appreciative of his servants; humanity also must follow suit to appreciate them as well.
Gospel ministers must demonstrate the courage to maintain their stand in faithfully serving God and their people. They must keep up with their good works whether people appreciate them or not. God will reward them if they remain faithfully – Irrespective of the magnitude of any pressure that people mount against them.
Paul, a servant of God, shared his personal experience about how people abused him (and other gospel ministers). Paul said, “For I think that God has displayed us, the apostles, last, as men condemned to death; for we have been made a spectacle to the world, both to angels and to men. We are fools for Christ’s sake, but you are wise in Christ! We are weak, but you are strong! You are distinguished, but we are dishonored! To the present hour we both hunger and thirst, and we are poorly clothed, and beaten, and homeless. And we labor, working with our own hands. Being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we endure; being defamed, we entreat. We have been made as the filth of the world, the offscouring of all things until now” (1 Corinthians. 4:9-13).
Lesson:
The servants of God often face the criticisms of others; they are persecuted and abused for the sake of their faith in Christ and their services to humanity. Meanwhile, the efforts of God’s faithful servants shall be accounted for and be rewarded! God will reward his faithful servants in his kingdom. Not only will God’s servants be rewarded in heaven, but they will also be rewarded on earth. God will look into the earthly affairs of his servants and bless them. He will also bless their descending generations for their commitment.
Since God will bless his faithful servants on earth and in heaven, the gospel ministers ought to stay encouraged. They must be persistent in their good works and not relent.
The people who serve God in any capacity must understand that whatever services they render to God and others are not in vain. God will reward them in due time.
Any spiritual leader who currently suffers persecution for the sake of his or her services should be encouraged and remain faithful to God. God will reward the courage soon!
*May every persecuted gospel minister receive the grace to remain persistent in his or her services to God – I pray in Jesus’ name! Amen! *
Prayer:
Dear God, I ask you to please encourage all your faithful servants throughout the world to remain persistent in their good works. Help your servants to summon the courage to faithfully serve you and not yield to the temptation and persecution of their enemies. Empower your servants to bear positive fruits that will lead to the salvation of people’s souls. Please anoint your servants to be successful in all areas of their lives. For in the name of Jesus Christ I make my requests. Amen.
