May 14 – God Loves Sinners But Sin

Daily Bible Life

The Israelites upset God with their evil practices, but the Creator promised to help them come clean of their messes. God promised to help them measure up to his standard of holiness. God promised, “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put my Spirit within you and cause you to walk in my statutes, and you will keep my judgments and do them. Then you shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; you shall be my people, and I will be your God. I will deliver you from all your uncleanness. I will call for the grain and multiply it, and bring no famine upon you. And I will multiply the fruit of your trees and the increase of your fields, so that you need never again bear the reproach of famine among the nations” (Ezekiel 36:26-30).

Lesson:

God is holy, and he will not permit any of his children to suffer and allow unbelievers to mock his name. Jehovah, who is the supreme God has the power to overrule any human imperfections. He can help anyone who is trapped in a sinful lifestyle escape from it. God gives strength to the weak, and he is able to empower his children to measure up to his standard of holiness.

Jehovah has been ever willing to forgive any sin; however, he does not want someone to take him for granted. God may forgive sin and still allow its consequence to linger. In other words, God does not want anyone to live in sin, and ask for his grace to abide. The Creator’s rod of correction would lay on a persistent sinner.

No child of God should attempt to gamble with his relationship with God. We must not underestimate his power. Children of God will be in the best position to receive his blessing if we abide by his rules.

Prayer:

Dear God, I understand you are an upright, God, who demands his children to live uprightly. I also, understand that you are a loving and forgiving God, but you do not want anyone to take you for granted. Therefore, I am asking for your grace to stay upright with you. Help me to serve you well so that I can qualify for your blessings. Help me to walk well with you so that I can prosper every day of my life. For in the name of Jesus Christ, I make my requests. Amen.
