March 8 – God Is Ever Faithful To His Loyal Children

Daily Bible Life

The faithfulness of God was obvious in the life of King David during his lifetime. David who was once a poor boy with no significant status to reckon with had grown to become the most prominent leader of Israel. David was born to a common family of Jesse in one of the smallest town in Israel. He held no significant position among his siblings since he was the youngest. His father also wouldn’t consider him as someone special as he failed to present him during Prophet Samuel’s visit.

No one else seemed to pay any special attention to David other than God, but that was enough for him. God promoted David from his very lowly position to take the highest role in the land as he became the crowned king of united Israel.

David faced many problems during his lifetime, but God helped him prevail in all of the situations. He triumphed over both domestic and foreign enemies. The man David had so much honor during his tenure as the king of Israel – He even received more honor after his death. Perhaps one special honor that David still receives today can be recognized in Israel’s national flag – The “Star of David.”

The scripture summarized the goodness of God in David’s life as stating, “…So David went on and became great, and the Lord of hosts was with him” (1 Chronicles 11:9).

Lesson:

The promises of God stand sure on his children. People whose minds are loyal to God will receive his tremendous benefits. God has promised to care for his dedicated children; he will fulfill his promises on their lives.

The fact that God has promised to take a good care of his children does not mean they will not face some challenges. However, they have an assurance that God will help them overcome the challenges.

Christians must understand that God is with us at all times. Our situations may sometimes be tough and we feel they need a special attention; God won’t abandon us during those difficult time. He will come to our aid and turn our situation around for good. God’s intervention will benefit us and honor his name.

Why should a Christian be loyal to God and trust him? The answer is simple: God is not like any human being who can change his mind at any time. God is the Supreme Authority; he knows all things and can do all things. He knows how to make his plans materialize in our lives.

Since God is an ever faithful God, Christians must reserve their confidence in him. We must serve him in faithfulness. We must not allow any unfriendly situation to distract us from serving him. Believers must rest assured that the Creator will show up in due time to fulfill his promises on our lives. He will fight our battles and earn us a testimony.

Trust God and serve him with faithfulness so that you can enjoy his benefits on earth and in heaven.

Prayer:

Dear God, please give me the ability to trust you in every circumstance of life. Give me the strength to believe that you are able to fulfill your promises in my life. Please help me to keep focus and faithfully serve you unto the end. Let your blessing be evident in my life so that people can witness it and glorify your name. For in the name of Jesus Christ I make my requests. Amen.
