As Christians, we are to be steadfast in faith and bring glory to God, whom we have professed to love and serve. Apostle Paul admonished the believers in Philippi and said, “Only let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of your affairs, that you stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel, and not in any way terrified by your adversaries, which is to them a proof of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that from God” (Philippians 1:27-28).
Lesson:
Everyone who professes to love God should act it out. God is counting on us to proclaim and maintain our standards. Although our confession of faith in Jesus may cause us to suffer persecution from antichrist people, we must maintain our standards. Unbelievers of Christ would raise their ugly heads to challenge our faith, but God has promised to help us overcome.
It is, therefore, a worthwhile effort to stand firm with Jesus Christ, because those who do so will be hugely rewarded in heaven. God reserves tremendous rewards for his children that refuse to submit to the pressure of Satan. God will honor those people, and make their works abide on earth, and also, decorate them with beauty in heaven.
Prayer:
Dear God, please help me to be a steadfast Christian who doesn’t compromise in the sight of an affliction or persecution. Help me to be a focused Christian, who faithfully serve you until the end. Please let my works abide on earth, and please keep me worthy of your imperishable crown of glory in heaven. For in the name of Jesus Christ, I make my requests. Amen.
