October 16 – Emulate The Humble Nature of Christ

Daily Bible Life

Christians all over the world must follow the footsteps of Jesus Christ and practice true humility, as the scripture emphasized, “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:5-11).

Lesson:

God loves humble people, but he hates the proud from afar! Humility comes before promotions and uplifts an individual in so many ways. Christians must venture to display it at all times. Believers must learn from Jesus Christ, who forsook the beauty of heaven for one purpose… To save all of mankind. Truly, Jesus humbled himself by all standards to come to the earth! He left the pleasures of heaven to come and save sinful beings like us! Since the Messiah depicted true submission, God rewarded him with great honor. He gave him a name that is specially higher than every other name, and through the name, all people shall have salvation.
The scripture emphasized about Jesus Christ and said, “Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:9-11).

Prayer:

Dear God, please make me a humble person so that I can be honored in your presence! Give me the grace to demonstrate true humility like your Son Jesus Christ, who left the pleasures of heaven to come here on earth to save the sinners. Please let your Holy Spirit truly rule me, so that I can faithfully serve you in all my ways. Also, help me to be humble when interacting with other people and in my activities daily. Let my ways be akin to Christ, and let my life glorify your name. For in the name of Jesus Christ, I make my requests. Amen.
