Christians are challenged to improve their relationship with God. A Christian must not be complacent with the elementary aspect of Christianity, but he or she must make a decisive effort to meet the standard of God. The scripture stated, “Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, of the doctrine of baptisms, of laying on of hands, of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. And this we will do if God permits. For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, if they fall away, to renew them again to repentance, since they crucify again for themselves the Son of God, and put Him to an open shame” (Hebrews 6:1-6).
Lesson:
Christians must aspire to meet the standard of God and make him proud by all means. We are to practice Christianity at best! That is, we must not dilly-dally with the standard of God stipulated in the Bible, but we must remain firm in faith. God reserves many rewards for any believer that has a contrite spirit and honors him in whatever he or she does.
Prayer:
Dear God, please give me the grace to love and serve you with full devotion. Let the Holy Spirit empower me to meet your expectations so that I can prosper in every day of my life. For in the name of Jesus Christ I make my requests. Amen.
