Bible requires Christians to restore their fellow believers who have backslided from faith. The scriptures emphasize the need for restoration as written, “Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted. Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ” (Galatians 6:1-2).

Lesson:

God is heartbroken whenever a Christian falls from grace. He wants other believers who are in faith to restore the fellow. Christians must understand that we are the people sent to represent Jesus Christ; we must be his true ambassadors on earth. Believers must not rejoice whenever a fellow backslide; we must avoid passing undue criticisms. Rather we should extend the arms of love that Christ requires. In an effort to restore a backslided Christians, we must pray and actively get involved. That is, we must be part of the restoration process! Once the backslided Christian is restored, we must disciple him or her to uphold a holiness standard that God requires.

Prayer:

Dear Jesus Christ, please make me an instrument of restoration to any other believer who has backslided from faith. Give me grace to sincerely pray and seek full restoration of the person so that your name can be glorified. I am using this medium to pray for restoration of my fellow believers throughout the world: Please restore and rekindle your fire in their lives through the help of your Holy Spirit. I also pray that you rule every Christian with your Holy Spirit so that we can comply with your standard of holiness and befit your kingdom. For in the name of Jesus Christ I make my requests. Amen.
