Children of God must consider the practice of idol worship as an abomination. Christians must completely separate themselves from the practice since it is irritant to God. No child of God is allowed to carve an image to represent God. Also, no child of God must worship a carved image or any other material. In other words, no medium must be adopted to represent God in any form or fashion! The scripture emphasized, “Therefore, since we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Divine Nature is like gold or silver or stone, something shaped by art and man’s devising. Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent, because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man (Jesus Christ) whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead” (Acts 17:29-31).

Everyone on earth is required to serve God and relate with him in faith. People must relate with God in faith without trying to represent him with any object or material. Believers must understand that we are not allowed to use any carved image to represent God. We must pray to God directly and worship him in the spirit – with full exercise of faith! (Whoever prays to God must mention the name of Jesus Christ in his or her prayers according to *Philippians 2:9-11*.

Sensible people do not serve idol! Why would anyone consider an idol as a deity to be served? Any craft or artwork made by humans is subjective to human authority, and it cannot be equated with God who is the Almighty Jehovah-The most powerful deity in the entire universe. Indeed, it makes absolutely no sense to bow in honor of an object made by humans!

God forbids the practices of image worship. God commanded in the Bible, “You shall not make for yourself a carved image—any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth” (Exodus 20:4).

Humanity ought to serve God; they should not serve idol. A person who desires to serve God should do so appropriately for his or her service to be acceptable to God. Meanwhile, an acceptable worship to God can only be offered by the help of the Holy Spirit.

True worship to God must be inspired by the Holy Spirit. It must come from a pure heart to be recognized by God. The Bible declares, “But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” (John 4:23-24).

Dear God, I know that you are the living God that all people ought to serve. You ask everyone to desist from idol worship and faithfully serve you. You promised to positively reward your faithful worshippers, and you will punish the idol worshippers. Therefore, I am determined to serve you with a devoted mind! I won’t represent you with any image; neither will I worship any other deity than you. I am also determined to only worship you in Spirit and in truth! Please let the Holy Spirit empower me to faithfully serve you! Lead me in the path of righteousness, and please qualify me for your eternal kingdom. Also, please bless me on earth as I faithful service you. For in the name of Jesus Christ I make my requests. Amen.
