The Patriarchs of the Bible operated in faith to honor God. They stood up against ungodly practices of their time. Of course, their society considered them as unpopular fanatics, but God honored them for their bold steps. God helped the patriarchs prosper, and they ultimately entered his rest after their death. Christians today refer to those Bible Patriarchs as champions of faith. Bible reported about Moses as well as other patriarchs, “By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter, choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin, esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt; for he looked to the reward. By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured as seeing Him who is invisible. By faith he kept the Passover and the sprinkling of blood, lest he who destroyed the firstborn should touch them. By faith they passed through the Red Sea as by dry land, whereas the Egyptians, attempting to do so, were drowned” (Hebrews 11:24-29).
Faith is what make Christianity relevant today. Every Christian has the mandate to operate in faith to appease God and receive his benefits. A Christian must apply faith to all situations of his (or her) life. The need to exercise faith cannot be over emphasized! Faith is what makes Christianity meaningful. Without faith in action, a Christian is not different from a pagan! God is God of faith; he expects his people to also relate with him in faith. That is, a Christian must live by faith through his profession and decisive actions.
Faith will make anything work for the benefit of God’s people. It will make things work for our advantages. With believers’ faith in action, mountain of problems will level out, and valley of insufficiency will be filled up with God’s benefits. Adversity will turn to testimony for someone who exercises faith! That is, a person of faith will have every reason to sing God’s songs of praise and obtain his victory. Any Christian who operates in faith will have every reason to glorify God! Every child of God is expected to affirmatively declare, “My God shall supply all my needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” A good Christian also ought to boldly confess, ”With God all things are possible!”
Dear God, please give me ability to be a steadfast Christian that put his faith into practice! In fact, I stand up by faith today to start living a triumphant life! I proclaim my victory over every challenge of life! Today I command a mountain of problem in my life to become a plain ground! I also proclaim that my life inadequacies that represent valleys be turned around to become God’s blessings! I proclaim my spiritual and physical breakthrough through the authority imbedded in the name of Jesus Christ! From now on, I shall live an overcomer’s life to testify the goodness of God in the land of the living. So shall it be, for I have made my declarations by faith in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen!
