Daily Bible Life

God warned Israelites to stop pretense but walk uprightly before him so that they can prosper. The Creator accused Israelites of attempting to bribe him with their fat offerings while they continue to live in sin. God insisted that his children must live up to his standard, or else they should pocket their gifts! Israelites must prioritize righteousness above their generous offering. God said, “Though you offer me burnt offerings and your grain offerings, I will not accept them, nor will I regard your fattened peace offerings. Take away from me the noise of your songs, for I will not hear the melody of your stringed instruments. But let justice run down like water, And righteousness like a mighty stream” (Amos 5:22-24).

God is not a man, and cannot be deceived by a gift of any kind. Jehovah will only receive an offering that is presented to him from a pure motive. For an offering to be acceptable to God, it must come from a pure heart, and the giver must not have an ulterior motive.

Believers must understand that God appreciates honesty. He wants his children to prioritize holiness to appease him. We must live holy lives to appease God. We must comply with his laws and maintain a good relationship with him. Jehovah will not hesitate to shower his goodness into the lives of people who faithfully serve him. The gravity of their benefits will last a life time.

Remember: Your praise offerings must be offered to God out of pure motive if you really want it accepted!

Dear Lord, how best can I serve you, and how best can I offer an acceptable service to you? I have realized you love honesty and you hate hypocrisy. Please help me to serve you with a pure heart. Let my services before you be authentic. Let my offering of praises satisfy you. Help me to keep a consistent relationship with you so that I can prosper everyday of my life. For in the name of Jesus Christ I make my requests. Amen.
