January 12 – As A Christian, The Authority To Live Like Christ Is In You

authority

Moses, the servant of God, wrapped-up his leadership duties among Israelites, and he bided them farewell. He counseled and prayed for the people to prosper in the land that God has promised them. Moses called out each tribe of Israel and proclaimed his blessings on them as said,

“Let Reuben live, and not die, Nor let his men be few.” And this he said of Judah: “Hear, Lord, the voice of Judah, and bring him to his people; Let his hands be sufficient for him, and may you be a help against his enemies.” And of Levi he said: “Let Your Thummim and Your Urim be with Your holy one, Whom You tested at Massah, And with whom You contended at the waters of Meribah, Who says of his father and mother, ‘I have not seen them’; Nor did he acknowledge his brothers, Or know his own children; For they have observed Your word And kept Your covenant… Of Benjamin he said: “The beloved of the Lord shall dwell in safety by Him, Who shelters him all the day long; and he shall dwell between His shoulders.” And of Joseph he said: “Blessed of the Lord is his land, With the precious things of heaven, with the dew, And the deep lying beneath, With the precious fruits of the sun, With the precious produce of the months, With the best things of the ancient mountains, With the precious things of the everlasting hills, With the precious things of the earth and its fullness, And the favor of Him who dwelt in the bush. Let the blessing come ‘on the head of Joseph, And on the crown of the head of him who was separate from his brothers…” (Deuteronomy 33:6-29).

Lesson:

It is a worthwhile effort for anyone to have a close relationship with God and faithfully serve him since whoever does so will have many benefits to enjoy and to pass down to his/her descending generations. Meanwhile, as it applies to everyone, storms of life may sometimes strike to bring uncomfortable situations into the lives of God’s children; however, God who is ever faithful will not allow challenges to prevail over them. Jehovah will help his children rise above challenges and prevail. Nothing will be able to stop God’s plans for his children; any situation that arises (whether comfortable or uncomfortable) will eventually cooperate with God’s master’s plans for his children! Hence, people who currently serve God should keep their pious efforts since their benefits are immeasurable. Those who are yet to make the important decision of faithfully serving God should seriously consider to reverse their position and do the needful – since they will lose nothing by serving God, but they will gain every needed benefit of life!

Prayer:

Dear God, I understand you care for the people who serve you. You won’t let them down in the days of trouble, but beautify their lives and provide for their needs. Surely, you will watch over your children until your plans are fulfilled in their lives! Therefore, I swear my allegiance to start serving you from today! I will serve you with all my strength, and I will keep doing so till I die! All I need now is your grace to keep my promises. Also, help me to exercise faith in all situations so that I can enjoy your benefits in every area of my life. Let my face shine, and let your testimony of goodness never elude my mouth – from now on and forevermore! For in the name of Jesus Christ, I make my request. Amen.
