Every servant of God must prioritize humility so that God can be glorified, and so that people can be challenged to serve God. Peter (in the bible) demonstrated an act of humility that other gospel ministers should emulate. The scripture reported,
“As Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him and fell down at his feet and worshiped him. But Peter lifted him up, saying, “Stand up; I myself am also a man.” (Acts 10:25-26).
Lesson:
God is the only deity that all people must worship; no other deity or human being must be worship. Also, no human being should worship money, material wealth, or others. God frowns at any activity that would attempt to share his glory. The Creator can go to any extent to withdraw his protection and provisions when his children refuse to glorify him. It is absolutely dangerous for any Christian to acclaim glory unto him or herself. Therefore, all people must redirect every due honor to God. After all, no one can achieve any positive thing on earth without the help of God. All people must glorify God in all situations!
Prayer:
Dear God, you deserve every honor in my life. You deserve praises and offering of thanksgiving at all times. No one else can offer me protection and provisions like you do! You have sheltered and cared for me in times of need, and you have given me peace during a crisis. Why then should I not praise you? Please give me the grace to appreciate you from the bottom of my heart at all times. Do not let me share any part of your glory. Help me to praise you always, and help me to testify to your goodness throughout the world. Also, let my testimony abide so that I can continue to bring praises to your holy name. For in the name of Jesus Christ I make my requests. Amen.
