Israelites rejected God with their idol worship practices, but the Creator insisted he would rule them by force to proclaim his supremacy. God said, “‘As I live,’ says the Lord God, “surely with a mighty hand, with an outstretched arm, and with fury poured out, I will rule over you. I will bring you out from the peoples and gather you out of the countries where you are scattered, with a mighty hand, with an outstretched arm, and with fury poured out. And I will bring you into the wilderness of the peoples, and there I will plead my case with you face to face. Just as I pleaded my case with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so I will plead my case with you,” says the Lord God. “I will make you pass under the rod, and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant; I will purge the rebels from among you, and those who transgress against Me; I will bring them out of the country where they dwell, but they shall not enter the land of Israel. Then you will know that I am the Lord” (Ezekiel 20:33-38).

All people must serve God with fear and trembling since he is the King of kings and Lord of lords. Humanity cannot ignore the fact that God has supremacy over all things. He will do whatever he determines – and no one can stop him. As heaven is farther from the earth, so is God more powerful than humans. Therefore, it is important that no one underestimate the Creator. All people ought to honor God and serve him with sincerity. We should not serve any other deity than God who created both heaven and earth. Everyone must understand that evil practices such as idol worship is considered detestable to God. We must not share the glory due God with an idol. An idol worshiper will not have a place with God in heaven. An idol worshiper will be condemned to the pit of hell.

It is important that everyone understand that humans are created by God, and we owe him our true worship. We must all dedicate our lives to God. We must praise him for all his goodness, and we must faithfully serve him.

Dear God, I understand that I won’t gain anything good from idolatry. An idol may have eyes but it cannot see. It may also have legs but it cannot walk! You hate idol worship, and you will judge idol worshipers. You will reject idol worshipers on the last day of judgment. Therefore, I confess my sins of idolatry and repent from them. I am sorry for all my evil practices! I am now determined to commit my life into your true worship – Which is the worship of the Living God! I also confess my faith in your Son Jesus Christ who died for my sins so that I can be saved. I declare that I will give my complete life to Jesus Christ from today. I will follow Jesus Christ, and I will faithfully serve him throughout my life. Please give me strength to keep my promise. Also, please count me worthy to inherit your eternal kingdom. For in the name of your Son Jesus Christ I have prayed. Amen.
