God was dissatisfied with a woman who mocked King David after he danced and praise him. David threw a party for God and allowed people to watch him danced before the Ark of God. Michal, David’s wife, despised him for the action. Michal argued that the whole King of Israel should not have stooped so low to make such lousy presentation. Michal said to David, “…How glorious was the king of Israel today, uncovering himself today in the eyes of the maids of his servants, as one of the base fellows shamelessly uncovers himself!” (2 Samuel 6:20).
God was upset with Michal for her words against David; therefore, she was barren for her lifetime. The scripture reported, “So David said to Michal, “It was before the Lord, who chose me instead of your father and all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the Lord, over Israel. Therefore I will play music before the Lord. And I will be even more undignified than this, and will be humble in my own sight. But as for the maidservants of whom you have spoken, by them I will be held in honor.” Therefore Michal the daughter of Saul had no children to the day of her death” (2 Samuel 6:21-23).
God must be respected by all people. Servants of God also ought to be always respected. God is too significant to be mocked, and his servants are honorable! God will react to any irresponsible action that anyone makes against him or his servant. It is therefore important that all people are careful in dealing with their Creator and his servants. Jehovah will bless people that honor him and his servants. He will decorate their lives with beauty and honor.
Dear Lord, I prefer to receive any little blessing that to suffer from your wrath! Therefore, I am determined to honor you and respect your servants so that I can prosper. Help me not to take you and your servants for granted. Let me honor you with dignity and honor so that I can prosper everyday of my life. For in the name of Jesus Christ I make my requests. Amen.
