The scripture challenged all Christians to care less about the world, but care more about heaven. Earthly treasures will perish but heavenly treasures will abide forever. The scripture charged, “Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world” (1 John 2:15-16).
All Christians are challenged not to be obsessed with the cares of the world. We must not chase the earthly pleasures as if they are our only hope. As true followers of Jesus Christ, we must consider serving God as our topmost priority. We must not forget that this world will soon vanish, and heaven will become our permanent home.
Dear God, please help me to set my priority right. Assist me to prioritize cares of heaven above the cares of the earth. Do not let me be obsessed with worldly cares that will soon perish. Help me to faithfully serve you and prepare for heaven where incorruptible treasures are stored. For in the name of Jesus Christ I make my requests. Amen.
